Jonathan Harrison, RA - Principal

Jon has a broad depth of knowledge of materials and construction processes, the building code, and the production of drawings using the latest computer technologies. In his role as Principal, Jon is responsible for the oversight of construction document production for the firm, while remaining active in all phases of the design and construction administration process.

Professional

Jon joined Hopke & Associates in mid-2006 after completing his Masters of Architecture at Virginia Tech. During his undergraduate program at the College of William & Mary, Jon served as a student intern and draftsman for the firm. His undergraduate degree in chemistry was followed by a graduate degree in architecture, during which he earned several design awards and ultimately the AIA Henry Adams Medal. A broad background in science and art makes Jon an unusually insightful problem solver and designer.

Personal

An incredibly proud father of two young boys, Jon fully anticipates the possibility of maybe finding some free time someday. Not easily deterred by certain culinary failure, Jon spends the time he has devising experimental cuisine for his wife - of which she raves “that was what?” When not otherwise engaged in the kitchen, he enjoys the fanciful whimsy of endlessly renovating his home, tirelessly developing his knowledge of steam locomotion on imaginary British islands, and snowboarding.
