John A. Hopke, RA, LEED AP - Principal

As Principal, John serves as the lead designer on all projects, coordinating communications and workflow to ensure adherence to the owner's program and schedule through all phases of each project.

Professional
A lifelong resident of the Williamsburg area, John established the firm in 1990, and has guided its growth into one of the area's most respected architectural practices. With a strong dedication to the character of local communities, he has acquired experience in a range of project types, with special emphasis on adaptive reuse, historic preservation, and projects with special contextual challenges.

Personal
John attended William & Mary on a track scholarship and was Collegiate State Champion and record holder in the 800 meter. Today, he enjoys riding his road bike, casual computer programming, and reading about obscure metaphysical phenomena.
