Municipal Building Interior Renovation
Williamsburg, Virginia

Size: 4,816sq ft

Completion Date: 1994

This structure, originally constructed in 1986, was renovated on three levels. Hopke & Associates coordinated space planning and interior design.

The first floor was renovated to create a lobby as a focal point to the building. The lobby serves not only as a point of departure for the stairs and elevator, but also as a central information area for City residents with inquiries of their local government. The second floor renovations reconfigured existing office and conference room spaces.

The third floor, originally unfinished, was renovated to provide meeting spaces for volunteer boards, civic hearings and community meetings, and break out groups. It includes a large multipurpose room, a small conference room, a kitchen, handicap accessible restrooms, and some storage areas.
